Biology Laboratory

More than a mere classroom, the Biology laboratory is the place where students explore the living world around them. It is in the laboratory that students learn to practice the activities of scientists – asking questions, performing procedures, collecting data, analyzing data, answering questions, and thinking of new questions to explore.

ELOCUTION CLASSES FOR PRIMARY SECTION

Speaking correct English is an acquired skill which only comes naturally to those who speak the language at home. No English medium school in Navi-Mumbai (all boards included), can boast that every student possesses this skill.  The management of Convent of Jesus & Mary has recognized the need for imparting training in speaking correct English and has taken a step in the right direction.

To set the ball rolling, CJM has introduced an ‘Elocution Period’ of one hour per week for each of the primary classes since August 2014. Starting young is starting right, and hence Mrs. Elizabeth Parackal comes thrice a week to train the students to read, pronounce, and modulate their voices. With time, patience and perseverance students will learn the importance of this exercise and can graduate to speeches, drama and other competitions.

Mrs. Parackal is well-qualified with an M.A, M.Phil (English) from University of Mumbaicoupled with a certificate from the internationally renowned ‘Dale Carnegie’, in Public Speaking & Personality Development. Elizabeth has been a lecturer of English, Communication Skills& Personality Development since 1984 in various institutions including FYBMS students at the University Campus, Kalina,Pharmacy students at SNDT Women’s University, Juhu, and recently, PGDM students at Bharti Vidyapeeth, Belapur. A free-lancer, she has conducted 20 hour programs and 2-4 hours workshops at colleges all over Mumbai and alsoat D.Y.Patil University, Nerul.
